Isabel - High on You

Isabel - High on You from Matt Bluske on Vimeo.

Acting as Isabel's music manager now, I've started booking shows for her solo act as a singer and song writer. She calls me "her muse" as 75% of the songs she writes are about us. Allthough this isn't any of my own art, i am a huge inspiration to it all. This clip is from Isa's very first show, and the song "High on You" was just written by Isabel 2 nights before the concert. You may even catch her looking down at the lyrics she had written on a note pad at her feet.

Isabel - I Wish You Knew

Isabel - I Wish You Knew from Matt Bluske on Vimeo.

Acting as Isabel's music manager now, I've started booking shows for her solo act as a singer and song writer. She calls me "her muse" as 75% of the songs she writes are about us. Allthough this isn't any of my own art, i am a huge inspiration to it all. This clip is from Isa's very first show, and the song "I Wish You Knew" was written by Isabel in Summer 2010 while Isa and I were broken up. We had just had a very tough (and apparently inspiring) talk about our differences.

Isabel - You Create My Smiles

Allthough this isn't any of my own art, i am a huge inspiration to it all. This clip is from Isa's very first show, and the song "You Create My Smiles" was written by Isabel in early 2009. Isa has always been full of love and very in touch with her emotions, she was exploding with love when she wrote this one.

Allthough this isn't any of my own art, i am a huge inspiration to it all. This clip is from Isa's very first show, and the song "Letting Go" was written by Isabel shortly after we broke up last spring. I think it's pretty apparent what it is about.

Isabel - The Only Place I Can

This clip is from Isa's very first show, and the song "The Only Place I Can" was written by Isabel shortly after we broke up last spring. It is about finding me in her dreams, and not wanting to wake up so she can continue to enjoy her false reality.

Isabel - Tu Vos

Isabel - Tu Vos from Luke Bluske on Vimeo.

Acting as Isabel's music manager now, I've started booking shows for her solo act as a singer and song writer. She calls me "her muse" as 75% of the songs she writes are about us. However, this song was inspired by her Grandmother who has Alzheimer's disease. This clip is from Isa's very first show, and the song "Tu Vos" (meaning "Your Voice") was written by Isabel about feelings she had while talking to her grandmother as her grandmother forgets who Isabel is in mid conversation.

29 Mules

29 Mules from Luke Bluske on Vimeo.

Shot and edited by Luke Bluske, the 5 minute video portrays the band's 3 known faces Casey Cannon-Singer-song writer, Xavier Gonzales-elec guitar extraodrinare, and Dave Spangler-harmonix deity and scat-tastic lyricist. The vid gives the viewer an inside point of view on who these guys are.

29 Mules - The Devil Stole my last $10

29 Mules - The Devil Stole My Last $10 from Luke Bluske on Vimeo.

Casey Cannon and Xavier Gonzales put together the 29 Mules in search of some great garage country sound. They more than achieved their goals with this GREAT BAND! If you're in Los Angeles, you are lucky enough to catch them live, as they are constantly gigging around town. I shot and edited this 3 minute video.

I edited this video for the Mules on a moments notice. We didn't even shoot anything specifically for this video, I just used media that was already on my computer!

People - Song for the People
Just found this online. I was the production designer on this music video. I didn't produce, direct, or edit this. Just designed it and brought Isabel on as well. We made lemonade our of the lemons we were given, but of course all the great work we did doesn't really show up in the video.

Making the ESPY's

Making the ESPY's from Luke Bluske on Vimeo.

This is a little behind the scenes video that shows a timelapse photography sequence of a couple days of filming JUST the comedic insert footage for the 2006 espys. It gives you an inside view on the unbelievable amount of work that actually goes into filming a TV special.

Arabian Nights Timelapse

Arabian Nights Timelapse from Luke Bluske on Vimeo.

This is another timelapse photography series of a commercial production that I worked on in the art department. My boss kept getting pissed at me for moving/setting up the camera for the timelapse shots in which later he totally appreciated.

Girl You Know Its True
src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/t9l3VQFUeNg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>This came about in an odd way. My neighbor Sandy came over while we were shooting and turned around and left immediately. She now likes to refer to this as "the Gay Porn night" and you'll find out why if you watch. My Sherman Oaks, CA roommates at that time were Eric Graves (Achmed-in the red boxers over more boxers) and Daniel Rangel (Amil-in the brown with the comb over). I (The Persian Virgin) had just got back to LA from a trip to Las Vegas and there was some crazy sillyness going on in the house. Eric was shit-faced. And Danny was going on about remembering how funny Milli Vanilli was. I wanted to shoot something because we were so abundant in the energy department so Danny thought we should shoot a music video to show the world who actually sang the songs that Milli Vanilli lip synced. It was a group called Sparkle Motion. They were huge in the Mediterranean and this was their American debut in 2003, which was at least a decade after it's original world release in the Mediterranean.
We started shooting at about 10pm on a Tuesday night and we ended just before sun up. The downstairs neighbors hated us. We are Sparkle Motion and we are beyond hot. We all co-starred, and took turns directing and shooting each other until the wee hours of the morn. I edited the video, learning new techniques with adobe premiere as we failed miserably with our first attempt at green screen special effects. I know you'll love this one.

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday from Luke Bluske on Vimeo.

This video was shot because I had recently fell in love with video editing. My roommates had all gone back to the midwest for Easter and I was home alone on Easter Sunday. Inspired by Spike Jonze's Fatboy Slim - Weapon of Choice music video where Christopher Walken gets possessed by music and dances around an office building lobby, I shot and edited this little music video of myself that day. The music is by my favorite artist Underworld.
