1412906742ash collage.jpg Ash

This is my homage to Ash from Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. This is my boomstick!

-"Ash" is made from solid cast aluminum
-stands about 3 feet tall.
-lives at my brother's house in Alburtis, PA (apparently used as a hat and bag rack)

note: you can see there's a chainsaw where his left hand used to be, and his left hand that haunts him in the movie Evil Dead 2 is at the base of his feet along with the Book of the Dead "The Necronomicon".

Special Thanks to Bill DeLong and Utrak as quality consultants to Lion Whisker aiding in his journey to greatness. This episode of Lion Whisker goes out to you two.

Lion Whisker made his debut in RC racing. In a one on one 2 lap off road challenge, the Whisk takes on "Slash" a 1/10 scale short course truck on a ball diamond where the finish line lies just over the pitcher's mound.

Gary and Leeann came to visit Isa and Luke in LA for Thanksgiving weekend. We had a traditional dinner, then went to Oceanside, CA, ate burgers and bowled, played in a golf sramble at Westlake Village Golf Course where Leeann won a closest to the pin! We played Wii Golf in the mornings for breakfast. Baila Baila performed a rock concert in Eagle Rock. We watched Breaking Bad, went for an epic bike ride on the beach, and saw The Toledo Show at Harvelle's in Santa Monica. Good times. I wanted to see what my new iphone 5s could do for me as a camera so i made this with it.

RC CAR: Exceed 1/8 scale Mad Drift Brushless RE
Bought an RC car for the first time this January because when christmas shopping for my 5 year old nephew and 7 year old niece, i noticed how cool RC has become since i was a kid. I had to get one myself. I settled on this one, and went to work making it my own original. This is the video of how my Mad Drift became... LION WHISKER

1392395941lwhisk watermark.jpg This was my Chirstmas present to myself this year. I was shopping for a cool christmas present for my niece and nephew and came across rc toys. I ended up buying an rc crane for my nephew and an rc helicopter for my niece... that wasn't enough, i dove right in and now own an 1/8 scale Exceed Mad Drift Brushless RE. It is so sick! I spent quite a few hours modifying it. Playing with these toys is only half the fun, building/fixing/modifying them is the other half. Check my videos for the modify!

When Papafoam has a band prac we like to use a little ritual to get the energy just right before we play. We like to shut the florescent lights off and play with just the glowing chili peppers and china balls giving us the perfect ambience for optimal rockage.

"No matter where we are, what our lives look like, how we have to get there... Next time the Packers go to the Superbowl, we're going too!" That was the pact that was made between us college buddies back in the late 90's after realizing we missed out on some golden opportunities with our favorite team going to the Superbowl. This is part 1 of the documentary telling the story of the next time the Packers went to the Superbowl (Feb 2011) and how we all fulfilled our promise in the pact.

DON'T FORGET TO WATCH SUPE TRIP PART 2 RIGHT AFTER THIS ONE!

Josie, Papafoam West's new drummer, bangs out Loose Strings in the band's first recording together. Isa sings, Luke plays guitar, and Pornslide Nault slaps the bass in this work with lyrics written by the band's original drummer-Snydey.

Good Times!

Acting as Isabel's music manager now, I've started booking shows for her solo act as a singer and song writer. She calls me "her muse" now as 75% of the songs she writes are about us. Allthough this isn't any of my own art, i am a huge inspiration to it all. This clip is from Isa's very first show, and the song "Your Future" was written by Isabel shortly after we broke up last spring.

Acting as Isabel's music manager now, I've started booking shows for her solo act as a singer and song writer. She calls me "her muse" as 75% of the songs she writes are about us. However, this song was inspired by her Grandmother who has Alzheimer's disease. This clip is from Isa's very first show, and the song "Tu Vos" (meaning "Your Voice") was written by Isabel about feelings she had while talking to her grandmother as her grandmother forgets who Isabel is in mid conversation.

1288676546anime eyes paint pic.jpg This is my hand painting anime eyes on Isabel. She wanted to be an anime character for Halloween and so I painted her a pair of eyes. Then I did it again for another Halloween party on Saturday. And then I did it this third time for the actual Halloween night, and it was this third time that we decided to make a timelapse video of the painting. Enjoy.

This recording session was done by Jeffrey Teruel and the raw stock audio has been sitting on my hard drive growing mold ever since. Motivated by mixing "The Foam", Isa and I went straight to work on this one right afterwards. All of a sudden, Papafoam things are happening! Music is alive once again!

Isa came up with the riff on friday night, we had a prac on saturday that was broadcast live on the internet at justin.tv/lukebluske from my cel phone! I'm impressed with technology. We've written a kick ass script that starts with this frame, ties up some loose ends that have been left undone in the first 3 chapters of vimeo's Beyond the Still story, and our script leaves the door open for the next director as well. We shoot Saturday April 24th in Allentown, PA. So much to do before then!

This particular video takes you through the experience had by two teams: The Lee & Dovey team; and the Styles & Luke team. The two teams battled right down to the final hole in the 2002 Wilber Scramble. Matt Bluske shot this video and I edited it. This was the first editing project I ever did.

1265678614dan.jpg This video was a Christmas gift from my friend Dan to his parents in December of 2004 showing them what his life was like in LA. He had moved out about a year earlier and they hadn't seen him since so he sent them this video showing his job as a PA, the LA traffic, etc.

1265232259devil stole still.jpg Casey Cannon and Xavier Gonzales put together the 29 Mules in search of some great garage country sound. They more than achieved their goals with this GREAT BAND! If you're in Los Angeles, you are lucky enough to catch them live, as they are constantly gigging around town. I shot and edited this 3 minute video.

I edited this video for the Mules on a moments notice. We didn't even shoot anything specifically for this video, I just used media that was already on my computer!

126523199229mules.jpg This is a short video about the Los Angeles country band 29 Mules. Shot and edited by Luke Bluske, the 5 minute video portrays the band's 3 known faces Casey Cannon-Singer-song writer, Xavier Gonzales-elec guitar extraodrinare, and Dave Spangler-harmonix deity and scat-tastic lyricist. The vid gives the viewer an inside point of view on who these guys are.

1251450193my nose.jpg June 5th, 2011

Luke Bluske was born in the quiet town of La Crosse, Wisconsin thirty years ago, and for thirty years the world has been holding its breath. Now, as the momentum of world events builds and the entertainment of revolution rises to a deafening decrescendo, Luke Bluske steps into the light.

A true man of the people, Luke grew up in the all-too-familiar suburban setting, living at or near home through his college years. Grabbing a typical B.S. Degree in Art or something like that from the University of Wisconsin in La Crosse, and promptly moved back in with his parents where he subplanted his morals and values as deep as he could before moving far away to a land of temptation as well as opportunity. He gathered his belongings, and crammed them in his ride--Westward Ho style. His relatively bleak beginnings belie the creative magma boiling just beneath the surface of his ruggedly handsome face. This webpage stands as a monument to that volcanic creativity.

Currently, Luke rocks out with a band called Papafoam, is on the verge of rolling in the Professional Bowlers Association, and he still works and lives in Hollywood (where he's been for the last 8 years) pursuing his life-long dream of being the best filmmaker ever. By night he toils away in his secret lair, churning out sweet ass project after sweet ass project. By day he humbles himself as a Teamster working for various TV shows, commercials, and films and whatever other odd job he scores to make the rent, watching . . . learning . . . plotting. With a likeable personality, an open mind, and an astounding sense of versatility, it's no wonder that demand for his skills is growing fast.

In his own words:
"All that action and no Jackson! Who cares? Love the journey you live!"

1247109497leifandkatie.jpg Check out the latest on the Bluske family. We had a baptism in the family, bro Matt had a baby boy, Jean, and so the whole family got together in 'Sconi for some family fun. Poker/Gambling ensued, of course. I documented one of the games with my sweet Casio EX-F1 camera in HD. Here it is.

1236917935defgolfstill2.jpg A short film Written, Produced, Directed and Edited by Luke Bluske. Assistant Director Eddie Green was a tremendous help on set as well as in post production. Together we learned a lot, made some friends, and came away with a funny little short while spending just a few coins. This film starring Tom Bry and Justin Mills was made in the summer of 2003 in Palm Springs, CA. The Definition of Golf is a dark graphic comedy that depicts how it actually feels to play the sport of golf. It was inspired by Robin Williams' stand up sketch on the origin of golf in which you will see here in the first two minutes of the video.

1236538552feguards.jpg Retired Special Ops Commando John Dawson is forced back into action one more time by his commanding officer Jerry Stax. Stax, a weapons dealer, forces Dawson to steal top secret Pentagon missile launch codes so he can sell missiles to Colombian drug king pin Carlos Monte for drugs and cash. Once Dawson figures out the plan, he concocts a plan of his own to stop Stax once and for all.

Fatal Error is a tribute to 80s action movies such as Commando including all the trademark signatures such as guns, explosions, great one-liners, and a lot of killing.

1235205944girltrue.jpg This came about in an odd way. My neighbor Sandy came over while we were shooting and turned around and left immediately. She now likes to refer to this as "the Gay Porn night" and you'll find out why if you watch. My Sherman Oaks, CA roommates at that time were Eric Graves (Achmed-in the red boxers over more boxers) and Daniel Rangel (Amil-in the brown with the comb over). I (The Persian Virgin) had just got back to LA from a trip to Las Vegas and there was some crazy sillyness going on in the house. Eric was shit-faced. And Danny was going on about remembering how funny Milli Vanilli was. I wanted to shoot something because we were so abundant in the energy department so Danny thought we should shoot a music video to show the world who actually sang the songs that Milli Vanilli lip synced. It was a group called Sparkle Motion. They were huge in the Mediterranean and this was their American debut in 2003, which was at least a decade after it's original world release in the Mediterranean.
We started shooting at about 10pm on a Tuesday night and we ended just before sun up. The downstairs neighbors hated us. We are Sparkle Motion and we are beyond hot. We all co-starred, and took turns directing and shooting each other until the wee hours of the morn. I edited the video, learning new techniques with adobe premiere as we failed miserably with our first attempt at green screen special effects. I know you'll love this one.

1235205438wrath.jpg This was my first ever Hollywood Film. Meaning, it's the first movie I made since I came out to LA. Daniel Rangel was my roommate at the time and he, as you'll see, is a very good actor. He took some film school classes when he was in college and we were discussing what assignments are like and I was intrigued. He gave me a film school type assignment. It was to make a 5 minute film with no dialogue, and I have to use the monkey (as he handed me a stuffed sock monkey). I took the assignment and about an hour later I said, "Okay I'm ready. Danny, will you be my actor?" He agreed and we began shooting. We shot for about 3 hours and then I went to work editing over the next week.

1235202625covergroove_deinterlaced.jpg Loaded Dice is a short film of the action/comedy genre. It is definitely intended for males in their teens and early 20's. The film has an extremely novice feel to it which was intentional. All the actors are amateur and most of them have never even recited lines in front of a camera before. Due to the decisions we made about casting and shooting, the film has a very campy and cheesey style. Before viewing Loaded Dice you should prepare yourself for an 80's Arnold movie with a thousand dollar budget. An ice cold case of beer and a bunch of your friends would be a great accompaniment. The movie contains lots of cheesey violence and bad language as well.

Actionbone has made it's way to a new home that should be somewhat more permanent. Now it's time to start throwing down with more content.
by: thebluskSaturday, March 11th 2006 at 11:29AM
After an unprecidented down time of over 2 months Actionbone is back on the air. Well, only on the air if you are using a wireless network connection, but alive none the less. Soon we should have some new artwork samples up.

1116787854camaro z28 rear right.jpg I bought the car yesterday for $1600. It made it home (60 miles) just fine in 100 degree weather with only a couple of minor stalls. I am very happy with how it runs. The best part about the deal is -- after I jump it and total it in the movie, Tom (the seller who is a mechanic) wants to buy it back and take it on as a project as long as the engine and transmission still work. Good Deal!

1116564686camaro z28.jpg Here is the picture of the car I'll be driving in my music video shooting this summer! It is a 1979 camaro Z28. Muscle Cars are cool on camera, baby.

Hey all, I know it's been way too long since I've updated so I don't expect you to get this even during this month. But it's time to get the ball rolling again, the film ball that is. I'm currently in the pre-production phase of my next music video produced by Gilles DeBaillenx, DP'd by Scott Kassenoff, and Directed and edited by myself. I'm getting excited!

Actionbone is back online. The geographical repositioning has been successfully completed. Due to extenuating circumstances, the recovery time was extended significantly, but we are rolling once again.
by: thebluskFriday, March 18th 2005 at 11:08AM
The Actionbone server will be off line from Saturday 19 March 2005 through Wednesday 23 March 2005. We are moving to a new location. Let the good times roll.

New high and low quality videos are now available for most films on Actionbone. The only project we still do not have a high quality version for is Definition of Golf. That one is in the works. The new HQ versions give much better video quality with only a slight increase in size and the LQ versions are much smaller in size but still very watchable.

1092970015nrreservoirdogs.jpg No Remorse is finished and ready for download from Actionbone! The LONG awaited second movie of writer/director team Matt and Luke Bluske has finally arrived. The raw footage was lost for over five years but it has been found and put together in a memorable short that will give you a glimpse of the early days.

Go to the Short Films page to download.

1092756415groove sword 1.jpg As I learn about better compression techniques, Actionbone fans are reaping the reward. Newly uploaded are two new versions of Loaded Dice. The movie has a couple of minor edits Luke made for the DVD release. A high quality full resolution version is available along with a reduced resolution low quality version for those that just can't wait.

Go to the Loaded Dice page now to download!

Actionbone was off the air for a week while I cleaned up Bones's hard drive. I had to remove the Actionbone hard drive from my computer to use the rest to boot the other drive. Now that job is done and Actionbone is back on the air.

Don't forget to check back real soon when I complete uploading and linking to a bunch of new high quality versions of many of Luke's projects.

1088230034luke in laguna.jpg Welcome to my filmmaking promo site. This site is very new and so most of it is still quite empty, just like my resume. But if you go to the gallery and look under Films: You'll find my latest film projects under Short Films, Documentaries, and Music Videos available for downloading. If you want a good laugh, check out "Girl You Know It's True" in the Music Videos section.

If you've been on this site before and tried downloading some video content, you probably know that it can take some time to get that juicy content. Well, no more. As of right now, Actionbone has contracted with zftp.com to host some of our largest and most sought after files. Specifically, the Loaded Dice movie, previews, and other Loaded Dice content are now hosted on a fat pipe so you may download with speed and ease. Go to the Loaded Dice page and download them just like normal and they will be there before you know it!

1087509325ldposter_allamerican.jpg News post thumbnails are rendered properly now. You may have noticed, the small pictures with each news post did not look exactly like the actual image if you clicked on it. This was due to a bug in the GD 2 library when used with a specific version of PHP. I reverted back to an older GD 1 library and poof.

1087267990persianvirgin.jpg Hello and welcome to actionbone. Due to the brand new state and severely low budget of my website ($0), there are some things still missing and downloading is a big pain. If you do not have Windows Media Player, you can download it at www.microsoft.com. You will need Windows Media Player to download and play video files from this site. Also, as of right now, the files are way too complex and high quality. I am still working on making lower quality (smaller files) videos that will be much faster to download. If you absolutely want to see a video; you can, but you may need to allow your computer an hour to download it before you can watch it. Check out all the new action in the gallery menu at the top of this main page!

I've finally moved a bunch of content into it's proper location on Actionbone. Feel free to peruse Actionbone.com and enjoy some choice Bones cuts.

News posters can now log into actionbone as well and post news updates. The news picture attachments aren't displaying properly yet. I'm still working on that one.
